Jeff Sessions represents the worst of America... As for the job producing argument, that was the line the tobacco industry used in the 90s to prevent extinction. I followed those hearings at the time because I was heavily long MO. In retrospect, I was stupid for being long, but I came out well ahead.

I don't think Trump cares about the employment argument. It is all about moral values and principles and Trump is very opposed to the state of mind of those under the influence. As for myself, I'm neutral towards pot these days. If there was a vote in NY to legalize it, I'd probably vote yes. Personally, it makes no difference to me one way or the other. As for whether it helps people from a medical perspective, I think that determines one's state of mind; it's a psychological drug, after all.

" it will be interesting to see what they do here in my state"

Mine too. Politic makes for some strange bedfellows.

Republican Dana Rohrabacher Submits States’ Rights Marijuana Bill

With so much uncertainty regarding Donald Trump’s federal marijuana policy, the cannabis community could use some good news. The fact that a positive reform bill would come from a Republican may surprise those not paying attention, but the GOP’s Dana Rohrabacher has been one of our best allies for quite some time. The Orange County conservative, responsible for Ronald Reagan’s “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” line when he worked as a speechwriter for the former president, is helping bring down prohibition, step by step, by introducing a bill that would protect states’ rights to legalize marijuana
