I guess that strike they went on at my university was a figment of my imagination.

Lot's more smart people would go into STEM fields if businesses were not able to import cheap labor via the H1B process. STEM grads typically make much better money than business grads for about the first ten years out of school then it flip-flops because of H1B type programs. You don't see any companies using H1B's to hire business students. Let the true market rate prevail for STEM jobs and a lot more kids will opt into STEM in college instead of business school.
