The Italians know perfectly well how corrupt and backward their nation is. It's embarrassing for them.

But I've got to say over the decades restaurant owners in Italy have become far less embarrassed about being caught openly cheating their customers.

Would these Italians just as gladly cheat their friends and family? Hard to say - but a cat doesn't change its spots.

Caught-up in the grip of the tyranny of Italy's unreliable transport system at Lake Como. Sorry, none of the buses are running today and no one knows why.

The buses are parked and the drivers are sitting inside their locked and empty buses. You can see one parked at an intersection on the street behind. A work stoppage? Temporary Martial Law? No one knows. And what happened to the passengers who surely had to have been on the buses at one time?
