Carl, I don't think it matters if INTC has a good quarter. I think INTC will be at 70 next tuesday and will close around 65 on next friday. The unbias money knows they don't have anything positive to say!

1. shift towards lower margin poducts ( 1000 PC )
2. increasing advertisement costs
3. increasing competition ( AMD/CPQ deal )
4. hardware still way ahead of software ( no need for power yet )
5. equiptment costs are increasing
6. Asia ( low demand and strong dollar )

I think INTC will be dead money for the first half of 98.

Good Luck!
