..yesterday..----------------------------------------------------news item--------------------
Protein Design Labs Inc said Monday it entered a collaborative agreement with Eli Lilly and Co to discover and develop new antibiotics for the treatment of certain bacterial infections.
One target of the research will be bacteria that have developed resistance to available antibiotics.
Under the agreement, Protein Design received an initial payment of $3 million and will receive additional annual research funding of $2.4 million for up to five years.----------------------------------------------------------------

Mike, sorry to nitpick once again, but if by "North America" you mean North of Rio Grande, I can't argue with you, or with anyone else (mis)using the Spanish language. Remember that most nouns in Spanish have gender and when one makes the diminutive (-ito, -ita), there should be gender agreement: casa => casita, but not cas-ITO, cacao => cacaito, ca*a => caquita (c to qu to keep the K-like sound), etc. And yes, this does not belong on the threads, and since Cacaito/Little Cocoa does not seem to mind one way or the other, and since this "translation" was never meant as an insult, I'll stop here.

From someone who was born and grew up (way) South of Rio Grande (or Rio Bravo, as some call it too), and yes let's see Xoma go ... (up).
