"You want to tell me that sudden deluge of rain is also 'global warming?'"

Yes

"What isn't due to "global warming" then?"
In terms of weather, nothing. Extra heat is like steroids in a ballplayer. They're in the bloodstream when he homers, but they're also there when he strikes out or walks.

Climate change brings more pleasant weather to U.S.: for now

Actually I dislike using the term. Global warming is real plain and simple. But, I actually prefer "extreme, dramatic and catastrophic" changes in weather patterns caused by global warming. The word most appropriate is "extreme". As I understand the modeling, the early modeling gave too much weight to the urban "heat islands". So the numbers could be questioned by saying "bad" modeling. I have been told the modeling has been adjusted. The numbers are still showing warming at an alarming rate. Believe what you wish. I have fundamentalist Christian friends that believe the earth is 6,000 years old. I tell them the same thing.
