>> f the Hillary story about using a private server was important then the Pence story about using a private server is ALSO important.

No. First of all, there Pence wasn't using a "private server." He had an account at aol, which at least has basic security provisions monitor by knowledgeable humans with appropriate firewalls SSL arrangements. Clinton's was hacked together by amateurs, stuck in a closet, not patched appropriately, and who knows what kind of security hardware, probably not much. And her STATE DEPARTMENT EMAIL was residing on this server for her entire term.

Add insult to injury, some classified email was being handled by this server which it never should have been.

Pence's business isn't about the country, there wouldn't have been any classified mail, professionals where managing the mail services which would have been adequately secured at all times.

There is a VAST difference between these two scenarios. "Private" email server sitting in a closet somewhere is not the same as using a gmail [or aol] account. You wouldn't recommend it, but you'd much prefer either one to having a server stuck in a closet operated by amateurs.

Really, anyone who doesn't understand the difference between these two arrangements really ought to just stay out of this topic, or be asking questions rather than rendering opinions.
