The spirit of the competition is "fire and forget" and come back at year-end to see how you did.

I'd vote to leave things as they are - if you are lucky enough to get a buyout, accept the forced re-allocation with good grace. :)

Thanks Bioaddict,
I’ve tried to keep things simple. The more variables, the more work it is for me and the more arguments about the rules. For example, if there was flexibility about buyout cash, a contestant could pick a stock with a pre-announced buyout in the prior year and then just keep all the cash or pile it into a single stock.
(By the way, did you know about the WGBS buyout when you picked it for your portfolio? ;-))
But if there seems to be a real consensus on a rule change, I’d probably go along with it.
Peace & good health,
Bulba
