Convicted Perjurer Michael Deaver liked to tell the story about taking his son, Blair Deaver, 5, on a tour of the capital and its spotlit, ghostly marble monuments at night after they had arrived with the Reagan White House.
“Dad,” the wide-eyed boy asked as Michael K. Deaver tucked him in later, “is Washington part of Planet Earth?” “I don’t know yet,” Michael told his son.

That's the "deep state" all of the secretaries, undersecretaries, aides, associates, friends and family in the White House, along with folks like Steve Bannon and Rense Priebus leaking information trying to undermine each other.

On Friday when Trump started yelling at Bannon and Priebus the tabloid press in England had a fairly complete narrative of what was said and what happened, ending with Trump having dinner with the little pixie Jeff Sessions that night at Mar-a-Lago where Trump is pushing small businessmen to the edge of bankruptcy.

Clearly that narrative which spanned hours and cities had to either come from Trump himself, or a series of people all along Trumps route from his temper tantrum with Bannon and Priebus to dinner with Sessions.

Blabbing is just what people do. They can't help themselves. Inevitably people share things which are funny and interesting, but sometimes by the time they're re-shared later those funny stories are now evidence of a crime or at least incompetence.

Remember Martha Mitchell? She was the gregarious wife of Nixon's Attorney General John N. Mitchell who was convicted of Perjury in 1975.

When she was with her reticent husband she was more restrained. But come 3 am, very much like Trump on Twitter, Martha would call up any number of journalists and start blabbing stories about what was happening in the White House.

Want to know what the mythical 'deep state' looks like? This is her.

You've gotta admit she looks like a talker.
