Yeah I should have added a qualifier except for gaming and video editing, neither of which I do much. Platforms like steam though seem to defray the need for everyone to always have the latest and greatest gpu? I've seen video cards that cost as much as my all in cost of the z420 including an old 24" dell 1920x1200 ips lcd! Different strokes!

I've advised the pilot to upgrade his monitors at some point to bigger and possibly higher resolution. TN panels are probably still best for best response time. I've been reading about G-Sync and Freesync and that sounds interesting... also led/lcd monitors where the refresh rate can be overclocked. There was an interesting 27" asus or acer, forget which, think 2560x1440 with an overclockable refresh rate for under $200 all in. I was tempted to buy for myself and let him test for free if I travel but trying to hold off on more pc related purchases for now. The old Dell 24" was just sitting around unused but it runs so hot compared to the few years newer version, and huge heatsink on the back! ;-)
