Canadians merely have colder dreams - except in the summer when their dreams are hotter and more humid.

I can agree with most of what he said. As I said previously the life style is far more relaxed. When he says health care is 1/2 the cost. He meant to government not to the citizens personally. Life span may be attributed to no surcharge access to doctor care, hospitalization or surgery if need be.

The train of thought is if a worker is kept healthy they remain employed, are productive and pays taxes on their income. Rather than sitting at home on social assistance because they are to sick to work. I believe that is a sound philosophy.

As far as education. From grade one to university the institutions are owned , funded by government and ran by elected school and education boards who answer to the Provincial education ministries and the voters who placed them in the positions. Much like city mayors and council members.

Government does not pay 100% of University costs. Two of our children received two and three degrees. One majored in both business admin. and Criminology. The other in Criminology, Law and Social Sciences. Their share of costs were between 35 and $40k each.

No interest before graduation Provincial funding programs cover those costs. And upon producing good marks. 50% of the outstanding bill is forgiven after graduation. So there is a good incentive to be studious. And really no reason not to have a decent education if that is a goal.

Elroy must have never gotten out of Vancouver BC. It is hot and humid there in summer as it is on the ocean and shielded from the winds by Vancouver Island just off shore.

The rest of the province is actually quite beautiful if you like jagged rocky mountain peaks. Four separate mountain ranges. Coastal, Columbian, Selkirk and rocky mountains. Southern half is warm and dry, the northern section is wetter and mostly wilderness like Alaska. Scenery can be quite spectacular teaming with animal wildlife.
