RTI vs. TIMT revisted

I noticed earlier you have a Boeing email address. It is nice
to know that you are bullish on these companies!

One more thing on RTI. I am very interested --- enough that
I might even sell off more of my OREM, since it has already
substantially appreciated and I don't want too much stock in
one highly-specialized and volatile industry.

However, what about the fact that due to loss carryforwards
1997 tax rate is about 10%, while RTI says if the 1997 profits
were repeated in 1998 then the tax rate would be approximately
20-25%? Also, although they say that 1998 orders with Boeing
are already booked, and that they believe that they can replace
the lost business, they don't sound certain that they will be
growing sales past 1998. With an increase in tax rate, it is
not clear to me how they will grow earnings past 1998.

I do like the P/E, P/BV, and the near term growth rate of RTI.
Heck, even the long term EPS growth rate looks good (18% from
Zacks). I'm just wondering whether the analysts have updated
their long-term estimates based on the recent news. If I could
get a clearer grasp of this longer term picture, I'd be in for
sure.

Thanks!
