Bob, Fiserv has grown to be one of the leaders in the financial processing field. They started around 1984 and have made numerous acquisitions over the years. The following site is impressive listing the names and dates of their acquisitions.fiserv.com With their recent acquisition of CUSA Technologies (a credit union processor), Fiserv is now the largest provider of technology and processing services to the credit union market. They serve more than 2,000 credit unions nationwide. They have credit union DP centers in Corvallis, OR; Flint, MI; Troy, MI; Minneapolis, MN; Titusville, FL. In total they have more than 65 data centers around the country. They are heavily involved in bank processing, credit cards, check processing, imaging, etc. One of their major competitions is EDS. When it comes to credit union business, Fiserv has been winning business from quite of few of the other vendors. I don't have their financials handy, but start at their web site at fiserv.com Their CU group (GALAXY) will be demonstrating this technology at a major credit union technology show on Feb. 11-12 in Los Angeles. In addition to FISERV, Real Time Data Management, the provider of the kiosk at Purdue Empl. Fed. Credit Union, will also be displaying their finger imaging technology at the same show. Both vendors are using NRI. This is a very favorable move. While the biometric market continues to move slow in financial institutions, it is moving. We will see quite a bit more activity in credit unions and banking during 1998.
