I don't; he wants to control his own destiny to the extent he can. But I don't think that means he has set out to become this fascist dictator all the lefties are talking about.

Just as he wants to create the best hotel in DC, he wants to turn the country around. He recognizes some of its failure and wants to undo the damage caused by the previous administration and make it an economic powerhouse beyond anything we've seen. Unfortunately, that battle may be tougher than he expects. OTOH, the formula of creating a sense of inevitability around being a winner has worked for years.

But Bob Dylan wisely explained that we all have to serve somebody and I'm pretty sure Trump is no exception to the rule.

You are giving him way too much leeway. That Putin is innocent is what he suggests by his statements like "People say he didn't do it" and "Maybe he didn't do it." . "People say he didn't do it" There are no people outside Russia and Russia controlled countries saying that.

I'm pretty sure that Trump looks upon Putin more favorably than most of the world does. Maybe he even admires the guy and likes his style of leadership, despite how brutal and corrupt it is.

No maybe. He has said that flat out over and over.

But to call Trump "pro-Russian" is silly, especially given Trump's ego and "America First" rhetoric.

Trump's "America First" rhetoric (like all his rhetoric) is meaningless. He says that while whining about his daughter's foreign made stuff not being treated fairly by retailers. His and Ivanka's products are made in 20 different countries including the ones he bashes so often. His winery and Mar-A-Lago is staffed mostly by foreigners here on H2B visas. There isn't a sincere bone in his body.

As for him being pro-Russian, that's just a matter of Russia being pro-Trump. And how far is he willing to go ... changing the Republican platform on Ukraine, suggesting he won't fulfill NATO defense obligations, will recognize Crimean annexation, lift sanctions. This is serious stuff (serious pro-Russian stuff) and it appears in the middle of a Presidential campaign ... hinting at it is dangerous and creates dangerous expectations.

That's why I roll my eyes every time a liberal paints Trump as a Putin puppet. Really, you think Trump wants to be subservient to anyone, even God himself?

Putin praises him and Russian oligarchs (ALL of whom are politically connected and gangsterish) have invested in his businesses. That's all it takes. Quid pro quo. If Russia benefits Trump, Trump is willing to be pro-Russian.
