"It is about the science."
The science is, as they say, settled. CO2 and other greenhouse gases raise the temperature of the planet.
How much will CO2 raise temperatures? We're doing that experiment right now.

"The data is what it is. "

Yup; CO2 has gone from 280 ppm to about 405 ppm, and temperatures have increased by 1.51 degrees C since the beginning of the industrial age, or 1.21 degrees C above the 20th Century baseline.

"you don't see why no one is taking climate science seriously?"
You don't see that everybody but Russia and the Trump admin takes it very seriously?

Climate change impacts are already hitting us, say Europeans

New polling study also shows support for financial penalties for nations that refuse to be part of Paris climate deal, as Donald Trump has threatened

At least two-thirds of them supported their nation being part of the Paris climate deal and they were at least two to one in favour of penalising countries that were not, perhaps via the border carbon taxes proposed by some French politicians.

“People see that if there are free riders, that is not a very good thing,” said Pidgeon. Earlier in March, the US state department snubbed the UN’s climate change chief when she requested a meeting.
