10 days before my Medicare kicked in I stupidly face planted into the sand at the beach. Spent 8 hours at the "compassionate" State run Hawaii State hospital.

Care received:

zero

Once they say it was my neck they said, sorry, we don't do spinal. You're getting medivaced to oahu.
I laid on the plywood EMT board for 8 hours, covered in sand. My wife came in and asked if they had checked my mouth. Nope. She looked in there and saw a gaping hole fulled wit sand, shells, etc. A nurse lent her a shop vac and she crammed that nozzle in there and used a turkey baster to irrigate my mouth until she had it cleaned out.

2 weeks later i received a total of about $68,000 for treatment in the ER.

I managed to negotiate it down to 28k. The hospital admin told me if I didn't pay within 30 days they just send it to the professional debt collectors they contracted to that are based in Arizona and let them destroy your credit.
