Give them what they deserve. I have closed out an account with a broker before because they were playing those kind of games with me. Different broker though.

When conducting such important matters, always send the letter
registered, with a return receipt requested. That gives you proof of
mailing and their receipt of the mail.

Nearly two years ago I moved. The township where I lived sent me
numerous bills for trash pickup. I sent at least four responses that I
had moved. I finally sent the registered letter and that was the last I
heard from them.

Such mail is a legal document that will be considered in a lawsuit. I
can almost guarantee the changes will be made if you do that.
