"POS" means Point Of Service, a type of plan which offers benefits which vary by the point of service - better if you use the restricted network than if you go anywhere you like. It is a type of plan offered by all major carriers.

Thomas:

Called Oxford 800 379 6886 extension 507. The sales person said POS= Point of Service= Freedom Plan.

Individual rate for freedom plan is $330 monthly. Freedom plan offers in network or out of network options. In network option requires you to see primary physician (gatekeeper) who will refer you to specialists. Your copay is $15 for every contact with a doctor. You do not pay for hospitalization. Out of network plan allows you to choose your caregiver. You incur $1,000 annual deductible and 20% copayment thereafter.

HMO plan costs $238 monthly. You incur $15 copay for doctor visits + $500 if hospitalized + $200 if surgery is performed.
