The big spending is from entitlements. Its also the hardest spending to rain in. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare are from Democrats. Only Medicare Part D was signed in to law by Republicans and even on that one Democrats had been pushing hard for government coverage of drug costs, complained about it not being generous enough, and then removed the main cost containment part of the program (the "doughnut hole"
