Mathon,

That does sound crazy. QWST will have plenty of competition from the likes of T, WCOM, Sprint, GTE, RBOC's, Frontier and a cast of smaller ISP's and CLEC's. These players wont give way to a monopoly but lets just say that life will get a little bit more interesting for them.

I worry about the opposite scenario that QWST might be the target of a takeover. As long as infrastructure is their main bag then it's not likely but as they venture into the next tier of business then they start to pop up on the radar screens.

Don't forget that MCI got their start in much the same way as QWST and now look at them.

>>I'm starting to think that QWST will not have any formidable competition by 2000. They may become like AT&T prior to the baby bell split-up. Anything that gets in its way will just get eaten a la Microsoft approach. Does anyone else see this happening?<<

Andrew, I revel in your prosperous prognostications! And we'll all watch our QWST shares climb -10X- in the process!!!

Don't call Janet Reno yet tho. Let's wait a few ticks :)
