State Senate in NY is Republican, the vast majority of which are pragmatic, centrist and independent. I can't remember the last Republican Presidential candidate they supported. I know they were unified (and very outspoken)against Trump and Bush.They were the ones who passed the free public college tuition for families earning under 125K a year.
State Assembly is primarily Democratic.
