Lvl 2. NFSC (Fidelity) seems to be a buyer at the moment,
perhaps for some fund(s)? Incidentally, very low volume today
(better to fade on low volume than on high volume, I guess).

I'm relatively new to this thread, but what if ASND acquired Shiva...to get its market share. I think the whole networking business is ripe for consolidation....and its already well underway. There is only room for a few giants in this market. Cisco is big enough, as are 3com and Bay. ASND needs to get bigger FAST....what is the cash situation and who could they acquire.......to survive...ASND needs to DOUBLE its revenues by the year 2K.

Nortel has an ongoing relationship with SHIVA that is about to be
renewed as we speak, not only that but much of what Nortel does with SHIVA has
nothing to do with what Nortel could do with Ascend, ie VPN and Lanrover.

Could be. I do not have enough information about the SHVA product line. I drop my comment:-)
