Arrow, you make very good points and I do not disagree.

It seems the big money will be made by who or what has control of the human interface and this is the battleground.

Question: If qcom makes their own browser within their phones operating system, do you think they will be made to unbundle it and also offer Netscape and Explorer or whatever cdma phone brower that may exist?

Bruce

If Microsoft decides to fully integrate Internet Explorer into Windows 98, can the government stop Microsoft from selling Win98 or force Microsoft to change its Win98 code? I think this is a separate issue from the one where Microsoft bullies the computer makers into bundling IE with *Windows 95*. I think the government is on firmer ground on the latter and flimsy ground on the former.

Ultimately I think it would be a mistake for MS to integrate IE into Win98. The browser upgrade cycle is way shorter than the OS upgrade cycle. Personally I wouldn't want my OS ripped in and out every 6 months and have to test everything.

On the issue of monopoly and Qualcomm's CDMA....I wish Qualcomm do achieve monopoly in the wireless world...Isn't every businessman's dream to achieve monopoly and pricing power? After *I* have earned my ten thousand percent on qcomm stock and options, I would gladly entertain any soul-searching or notion of antitrust issues, but only ever so briefly...<chuckle>
