Worswick,

Price of Sime Darby ADR tracks KLSE price very closely. The only problem is the spread in bid and ask here is quite large. Sime Darby has a Web sites with 1996 Annual report.

Good investing.

Worswick,
Sime Darby closed at Rm 3.54 up .06 yesterday.

I do not recal mentioning Chinese New Year as a particular reference to market movement here. I have been saying for some time that I expected more bad news in Asia ans especially Malaysia. OPerhaps Tom mentioned Chinese New Year though I do not recall.

I do not believe an off shore investor can buy/sell through a local broker. I may be wrong about that however and will check on it for you. My local account is through Arab Bank. I do not have any specific recommendations about a local broker.

I only recently began to look closely at the KLSE and remain convinced there are some bargains there but so far none in particular have stood out. In any case local picks will involve a very small part of my total investments. In fact, individual selections constitute less then half my overall investing altogether and I am more comfortable in technology stocks.
Good Luck!
Best,
Stitch
