You forgot to mention that 1 in five Texans have concealed permits 20% of Texans state they carry. Another 17% when asked if they had a gun would not answer. Many Texans own more than 5 Guns. So if every other person you encounter has a gun. That in it's self is a deterrent. My self I like guns. I personally own 21. Look at the rest of the individual stats on the page in comparison. Many crimes in both cities are higher than other communities.
