Actually, I was the lone ranger in the classical political thought class. Everyone warned me not to take the class with this professor, that he was a very outspoken critic of Israel and a member of the PLO. I didn't care. I was a few years removed from fighting as an Israeli soldier and wanted to hear the PLO argument in its most lucid form. I heard the argument, digested it and kept my mouth shut. I also listened to student questions of how to destroy the Zionist State. My eyes must have popped wide open on that one because the Professor looked at me nervously before he gave his response.

I was told ahead of time that dissent would not be tolerated and I could risk a F if I got out of hand, so I remained silent and never said hello or good bye to anyone in the class, including the professor. I got an A on the Midterm and Final and an A on the paper. A in the course. The Professor was an extremely smart, lucid scholar. He also elaborated the PLO point of view clearly and distinctly for my purposes. I enjoyed the class and got quite the education. At the time, I was quite the Zionist, but open-minded.
