Both $Skew and VIX are dropping today. It could be just a one-day wonder from the quad-witching aftermath.

When I look at the SKEW presented underneath the VIX all I see is that the SKEW seems to be a mirror image of the VIX... Spikes of the VIX corresponds to the dips in the SKEW... you might get at most a heads up of maybe a day as to a sudden rise of the VIX.

I don't really see what the SKEW can provide me that the VIX doesn't do.... Perhaps it is more important for Options trading which I don't really understand and don't intend to learn having tried this once before... Options is all jargon to me... there is no real Options for Dummies type book on the subject so I just gave up and I don't miss it really.

The VIX is puzzling to me right now... it seems so relaxed right now especially with yesterday's dip in Index charts. Me position on the SPX, RUT, DJIA NASDAQ is still unchanged... I think there will be a rebound and no continuation of the drop. My charts don't indicate a drop today so far. If I am wrong and we see a similar drop again then I will admit defeat in this regard... but right now I hang on with bloody fingers.

My concern today though Is a stock by Theralase Technologies which is listed in Canada and the USA under TLT.V on the Canadian Venture Exchange and on the OTCB with a ticker TLTFF. This company is a biotech with a proceedure for fighting Bladder cancer. There is a strong treatment for Bladder cancer but it doesn't work all the time.... when it fails there is not much of a plan B to fight it. Theralase makes medical lasers and has teamed up with a researcher who investigates Photo- Dynamic Compounds. In a nutshell they introduce a solution of the chemicals into the bladder... the chemicals are absorbed by the tumours (that are relatively small and not progressed into the muscle. They then focus the cold green laser on the the bladder somehow and destroy the tumours... It has worked very well on rats...phase1 trials on humans have had trouble starting (problems getting the correct candidates) but that seems to be resolving itself.

I have held this stock... quite a bit actually at an average of about $0.38/share for over 6 months... It fell to between $0.26 - 0.28cdn for months but in the last 2 days the stock went to $0.325cdn before settling back to $0.32. So this may be the start of a breakout that all investors in this ticker have been waiting for.

I like the science behind it and the people involved are very professional... exciting times. If you want to read about the company its website is at theralase.com

This is what will be occupying much of my attention today
