You have to admit Adrian Elm, the "Prep-School Rental Car Terrorist" who ran over people on Westminster Bridge is a uniquely British story. Raised in an affluent suburb of London by a single-mother, attended Prep-School and he was popular with other kids. After his Mom later married he sometimes adopted his step-father's last name Ajao, but some reports say not legally through Deed Poll. Elm marries a 47 year old business-woman, Jane Harvey, they have two daughters and live in a million Dollar home in East Sussex, near Rye. When their oldest daughter was eight, Adrian Elm was jailed for two years after slashing a man's face with a knife in a violent confrontation outside a local pub. Neighbours said Adrian Elm was "radicalised" during that two-year jail sentence, what ever that means. It seems to me that slashing someone's face with a knife was already fairly radical and a long way from his Prep School past. Upon release from prison Elm abandoned his old life, including Miss Harvey and their two young daughters. One villager said: 'When he got out of prison he decided he wanted to live an Islamic life and didn't want anything to do with his past life at all. 'He left Jane and the girls and went to live in some dump in Eastbourne, and I think he met someone else. He never came back after that and Jane was left to bring up the two girls on her own.' Adrian Elm began calling himself Khalid Masood, but they we don't know if that name change was official either. Tragedy struck when their elder daughter Andi was hit by a car as she ran to catch a school bus and was almost killed, the neighbour said. Her injuries were so serious that she was left in a wheelchair. Given the injuries sustained by Adrian Elm's daughter from being hit by a car, his choice to do the same to others on Westminster Bridge cant be coincidental. Elm convinced his elder daughter, now 24, to convert to Islam, and she change her name, began wearing a full face burka and moved in with her Father in Birmingham, sparking a bitter fight with his ex-wife Jane Harvey. Elm also asked his younger daughter, now 19, to convert and move to Birmingham with him, a friend added, but the girl laughed and refused. Elm wanted his younger daughter to convert to Islam but Jane was against it and there was quite a family struggle. The couple's other daughter, now 19, lives with Miss Harvey and pictures show mother and daughter enjoying days out at the races or ice skating.
