Another Good Guy With A Gun: Detroit Man Shoots Sister’s Violent Stalker

Posted at 2:34 pm on March 23, 2017 by Bob Owens

A 32-year-old Detroit man apparently saved his sister’s life Tuesday when her 21-year-old ex-boyfriend kicked his way into her new apartment with a gun and bad intentions.

According to police, the 21-year-old man was armed when he kicked in the door of his 31-year-old ex-girlfriend’s apartment at 8:10 a.m. in the 3900 block of Wabash Street on Detroit’s west side.

Her 32-year-old brother shot the man multiple times in the chest, killing him, police said.

The ex-boyfriend’s car was left running in the street.

According to police and neighbors, the man had been stalking his ex, and is a case of domestic violence that had been going on for too long.

“It’s very sad that he had to lose his life to a relationship that he didn’t want to break up,” a neighbor said.

Neighbors said the woman hasn’t lived at the apartment for long, but her garage door and window already have scratches and dents caused last week by her ex-boyfriend.

“I have seen him come over, breaking up the property, disturbing the neighbors, beating on her,” the neighbor said. “We had to call the police several times.”

It’s a horrific circumstances when someone refuses to let go of a dysfunctional relationship, and refuses to move on with their lives. In this instance, the 21-year-old alleged stalker had beaten the woman destroyed her property, and harassed her for a period of at least six months. It appears that his intention on Tuesday was to murder her and then attempt an escape in his still-running car after he kicked in her door.

Fortunately, the woman’s brother was there, and apparently of some skill with a firearm. He put multiple shots into the stalker, apparently all of them hitting center mass, terminating this 21-year-old’s apparent lethal intent.

A young woman is alive today because her brother was there as a good guy with a gun.
