Thanks Josh,

That might be very helpful. I don't know if he has his Windows product key but I will check with him. I live in St. Louis, Mo and he lives in Hilton Head, SC, but I should be able to create an installation disk here and mail it to him.

This would be so much easier if I physically had his computer here. Since he does not think that he changed his password, there is still the possibility that his keyboard is damaged (he has a laptop computer). If that ends up being the source of this problem, then a new computer might be the best answer.
