Trump is a multi-tasker: <<at some juncture it would not likely be the trump gives up or gives in, but he would simply do per possibly likely character closely associated with what we know so far about his traits, that being "get even">> He has already done a lot of getting even. He runs that in parallel with his confrontation.

Think back over just the last year or 18 months and how many people have been given punishment. Flynn came and went - bam. Campaign managers, in and out. Lots of people have experienced the consequence of picking a fight. For a start, most of his candidate competitors experienced to a greater or lesser extent his wrath. The Republicans who didn't back him will find their next electoral cycles are thin on support from Trump and co.

But getting even is merely a way of getting what he wants rather than an end in itself.

So far, the camel is eating the straw rather than carrying it as a burden. "Maybe this straw will break the camel's back" says the media. But all they do is feed the beast. For example, the good old "flip flop" accusation was a winner against many people, but not against him. He does flip flops in one sentence. Another; "Look, he's a womanizer" would in the past be a kill shot. But that just seemed to push him up the ranks, "Wow, I wish I was in his shoes" must lurk around in many male brains. "But he grabs women's pussies" should also have been a winner, but too many people heard the ACTUAL thing he said which was far from that. He's not a Bill Cosby or even a Bill Clinton - he simply explained the response of very many women to famous big shot alpha males who have humour, money, look pretty good and generally are attractive.

Meanwhile, without fanfare he's giving it to ISIS in Mosul and Raqqa [and no doubt anywhere else they lurk]. As he said, he would not be announcing to them any plans [unlike Obama]. They would find out what's going to happen AFTER it had happened.

Meanwhile, the price of oil is not gaining steam. On the contrary, there's downward pressure. If Elon Musk's Tesla and the swarms of other electric cars get going, there will be further downward pressure. Since gold is made from oil, it might be that gold also goes nowhere until such time as financial relativity theory kicks in as money nears the speed of light.

We're not even at 100 days. Let's see the lay of the land after 100 weeks.
