... am pretty certain that it would get dark all over, but perhaps darker in certain spots than others, assuming darkness can be counteracted by aspects of life environment, i.e. warmer climates somehow nicer, and availability of good-enough but inexpensive wine may help. food culture may be important. darkness more bearable as long as the 2-3 meals per day is worth looking forward to.

also, perhaps darkness can be ameliorated by availability of and inclination to read good books.
