John and Ox

I lived many many years in Japan (Tokyo Area) and it has one of the highest standard of livings in the world and a very modern infrastructure, but the debt load they are carrying is really scary. But somehow they keep pushing the can down the road. For years I watched how America has followed Japan from Crisis to Crisis.
One of the biggest differences between the two cultures is Immigration. Japan has none and it is killing them.

I can remember in the late 80's when Emperor Hirohito died and all of the worlds leaders came to his funeral very reluctantly, because at that time Japan was the economic engine that China is now. but doing it with 1/4 of the population of China and no natural resources.

For decades Japan has been trying to create / stimulate Inflation with no luck. America would be wise to see how Japan resolves some of their problems, I am pretty sure China watches them closely.
