Almost all websites are already run over https, look at SI's address for example. It would probably take you some time to find one that doesn't use https...

To changes DNS you just go into your router's setup pages, and you will find it somewhere in there.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation’s HTTPS Everywhere browser extension is one of the first things you should install.

I don't know if it's just a coincidence but SI is running triple speed today, even with ad-aware shut off. My only change is the installation of HTTPS. I don't know if SI dropped some bad banner ads or it's just this extension.
