The court is currently evaluating Aquarius and whether or not the source code comes from Cadence products.....It looks as though the court and Cadence will need to look at AVNT's new products too...which claim to be "10 X as fast as Aquarius".....If the court and Cadence can't evaluate the source code quickly enough I believe that the judge has enough information to SLAP the company with some kind of punishment or stop the sale of such products......

Don't mess with the system or you'll get screwed....I sense that AVNT is trying to screw with the system....I feel that they are in for a BIG suprise.....judges, in general, will not permit companies to openly slap them in the face and run away as AVNT has done.....

I should note that I am not the AVNT expert....much of the info. I have heard has been posted throughout SI by many people....

My conclusion is that I am short AVNT due to questionable business practices.....No more, no less....

Peter V--I agree with Dan Ross that questionable business practices is an excellent starting point for a short on AVNT. The 'technobabble' of their of their press releases is sometimes transparent. I picked up one and posted it on the AVNT thread where the company was trumpeting a court 'victory' in their ongoing legal stuff. The 'victory' was a stay had been granted them, which simply means nothing had changed they had been given a bit more time.
That sort of thing along with the nameless buyers in their announced contracts has given me a sceptical eye for their press releases. That said the company is dangerous to my mind for moving the stock price with their various releases.
All the Best
