It was science that was able to explain to the human beings when they were just making stuff up, making a mistake, and telling us what was real. It was science, that stopped the mid-evil medical practices of things like bleeding, etc. It was science that doubled our lifespan less than 100 years ago by discovering antibiotics, etc. It was a scientist that figured out relativity and quantum physics over 100 years ago. And those two theories have stood the test of time. Not once in 100 years have those theories ever been found to be wrong and 40 or 50% of all modern technology is based on those two theories alone. It was scientists that allowed us to build radios and televisions and Iphones because they understood quantum wave action. It was scientists that figured out how to build an atomic bomb and put a man on the moon and cured cancer. And it was scientists that figured out such esoteric and complex concepts as the Heisenberg uncertainty principle and the fact that atomic particles can never be completely known with regard to position and momentum. It is always a probability and that has stood the test of time. So things like evolution and global warming are a piece of cake to scientists. When they hear people say that global warming isn't real, they shake their heads at the gross ignorance of that statement. Every scientist worth his salt or is not selling out to the petroleum industry knows damn good and well that global warming is happening and is incredibly dangerous and that they do not know the full danger of the feedback loops. Last with regard to where the universe comes from, the scientist will be the first to admit that they don't know. They know nothing before the Big Bang, it is 100% theorizing. But they do know exactly how old the earth is, and that is another one of their great understandings. We should be respecting the scientists and listening to what they have to say. But the Republican Party has always been antiscience, in fact recently in Texas the Republican platform actually had a provision against the teaching of higher order thinking. Can you imagine that, they don't want higher order thinking taught to their kids in Texas. Willful ignorance!! Imagine! Try and wrap your mind around that one-lol. Cheers
