Do conservatives really believe the trickle down fairy tale or just go along with it to feed their greedy overlords and stick it to poor and working class?

The disparity of wealth is at all time highs and the Rs want to see it increase... how stupid can one get?

I hate asking that question because when you ask "how stupid can one be?" the Rs seem to take it as a personal challenge to prove exactly how stupid they can be

meanwhile Sam Brownback of KS has stuck it to poor folks needing healthcare... it's a Republicon tradition

Kansas Medicaid expansion looks to be officially dead, as House was 3 votes shy of over-riding governor Brownback’s veto.

and he also bankrupted the state by cutting taxes to the wealthy, to invigorate the "trickle down" economy... Stupidity and Greed, a republicon tradition

IS THIS REALLY SHOCKING TO YOU?

When 95% liberal Google, with 38,000 employees, can make more money than General Motors can with 225,000 employees?

You should be able to see where this is going. The problem is NOT "Trickle Down." It is NOT Ronald Reagan, dead and buried for 20 years.

The problem is an economic convulsion. A fundamental change in the way the economy will be from now on.

And standing back throwing money at the problem is not a solution.

"Trickle down" is the term favored by the left to attack the theory that lower taxes (in general but the left focuses on the fact that taxes are lowered for the rich and they get a larger amount of tax savings in dollars per person) doesn't just benefit the wealthy or anyone with noticeably lower taxes, but generally is positive for economic opportunity in general. The problem with the attack is that the theory is true. (A problem for the theory is that its often oversold, the effect can be positive without meeting the rosy predictions of some of its supporters).

"Trickle up" isn't a clear term but to the extent its meant to describe redistribution to the wealthy from the poor by government policy, well the effects of the government work strongly in the opposite direction. To the extent its used to mean what actually is described in the article you quote - increasing inequality - then its simpler and more accurate just to talk about increasing inequality.

It doesn't make much sense to argue for more redistribution using pre-tax and transfer data. To the extent that such policies address inequality it would only show up in post tax and transfer data unless they reduce work and investment (and so economic growth) enough to have a noticeably negative impact on the pre-tax income and wealth creation by the wealthy. They might indeed do that but then it would hardly be a good argument for more redistribution.

. Also one should look at income inequality for individuals rather than families because family size isn't constant

So from 1961 to 2012 income inequality has been pretty much flat. Its probably increased since 2012 (it usually does in recoveries), so its probably at a higher level than in 1961 now, but not massively different (and not something that has anything much to do with Reagan)
