Not a bad post Ratzo. But, whatever Russia did to meddle in the last election, the US spook apparatus is far more sophisticated and effective than anything Putin can throw at us. I just don't want us to engage in a hot war with Russia over airspace in Syria or border disputes in Ukraine. I highly doubt Russia will overrun the Baltic States or attack any nations strategically tied to the US. McCain and Hillary appeared to me to be pushing for a hot conflict with Russia which would only end badly for everyone.
