Bannon was there to undo the Obama reorganizing of the committee. Obama threw out joint chief chair, and others who used to be permanent members. Instead, Obama put in Rice, Rhodes and other dipshits. Bannon changed and restructured it back. Now it has been turned back over under McMasters. Bannon is still a member, but not as director. He will still get the briefings and meeting minutes. His job there is done and now he is moving to the next task to do the same thing. He was not demoted. Far from it.
