Is Intel still selling non .25u chips for portables? I don't see why would anyone buy those.

That's why every notebook manufacturers cancelled their orders or returned the chips to Intel.

Pentium family processors would be crippled if L2 cache is eliminated. However, the battery power won't last you two hours if the L2 cache is added. Intel simply does not have the neccessary technology to deal with this issue.

Jozef, the "new" Intel .25u 233MMX chip uses <4 watts. But that doesn't include video, audio or L2 cache. 1998 will be the year of the GXm.
