"ABC Names Ian Cameron Executive Producer of This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ABC Names Ian Cameron Executive Producer of This Week with George Stephanopoulos" />ABC News announced today that Ian Cameron, formerly a producer for World News with Charles Gibson, will be the new executive producer of This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

Mr. Cameron replaces Kathy O’Hearn. In July, ABC announced that Ms. O’Hearn would be leaving the show to become a producer on the network’s special events political team.

The move comes at a critical time for This Week. With the future of NBC’s Meet the Press, still somewhat up in the air, This Week now has an opportunity to try and recapture its long lost status as the top-rated Sunday morning public affairs show.

More from the release:

Ian Cameron has been named executive producer of ABC News This Week with George Stephanopoulos, ABC News President David Westin announced today. In this role Mr. Cameron will oversee production and editorial content of the Sunday morning public affairs show.

"Ian has 23 years of broadcast journalism experience and he lives and breathes politics. His editorial acumen and knowledge of Washington will be an enormous asset to the program," said Mr. Westin.

For the past seven years Mr. Cameron has served as the Washington senior producer for ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson. There he produces content for the evening news broadcast and provides editorial direction for its Washington news coverage. Cameron began his career at ABC News in 1998 as a producer for World News with Peter Jennings, where he managed an investigative team of reporters and led the editorial direction for the show’s popular Your Money segments. Cameron was a part of the ABC News team recognized with a Peabody Award for coverage of 9/11 and the events that followed.
