Arnie, Any clue what these statements from the Teledesic web site mean? "Ground-based gateways will enable service providers to offer seamless links to other wireline and WIRELESS networks." -- "Teledesic provides primarily fixed, broadband connections at costs comparable to urban wireline service." They mean that a wireless service provider can use Teledesic to replace the broadband facilities that they currently use for high speed interconnection (i.e. Fiber, T1s, DS1s, Microwaves).

Maybe a call is routed from a wireline to wireless network like this: Wired Phone - Switch - Switch - Dish - Satelite - Dish - Cellular Tower - Cellular Phone.
