"Ambit gains equity, adds two directors"

Santa Clara, Calif. - Privately held EDA startup Ambit Design Systems Inc.
has received $19 million in funding from LSI Logic Corp., Cadence Design
Systems Inc., Sumitomo Corp. of Japan and Wall Street investors.

"This $19 million legitimizes Ambit," said chief executive Prakash Bhalerao.

Ambit also added two members to its board: Wilfred Corrigan, chairman of
LSI Logic, and Sanjay Subedar, the former chief financial officer of
Stratacom Inc.
