I don't think it's a good idea to be buying back shares right now for two reasons. 1) They don't need to boost earning per share (one result of a buy back) because the earnings per share are being compared to last year and therefore will show a significant jump regardless. 2) There is a possibility that there will be an extended period of time when competitive pressures will impact profitablity. A big cash reserve not only will come in handy during that period, but it's one of the first thing fundamentalist look for on the balance sheet.

Hold on to that cash, don't worry short term about the stock price, write covered calls to get your basis down, let the investment community get comfortable again with this company which will take time. Hope for some "right moves" on the part of management, beginning with Jan. 19th. IMHO
