There are always Whiners. But the percentage of those affected by the border wall would simply be considered collateral damage in the grand scope of things. No different than the regulations imposed on business by government for the common good. Cost corporations $millions. They just have to bite the bullet.

As far as boots on the ground costing less. I agree in the short term that is probably true. But in the longer term with technical devices signaling breach locations it will take far fewer agents to sprint via air craft to thwart those entries.

Long Ladders? first they have to pack them there over open desert with little cover. If somehow they did get them to the wall undetected they still may have a drop on the US side. The specs call for a non hookable top so as to prevent the use of rope and skyhook It is also possible to use rolled barbed wire like prisons. it works much like a fly trap. Not fun I would think. It seems prisoners always prefer other routes. That may say something.

If the crossings have dropped 60 % already due to increased patrols and being immediately sent back. In my opinion any thing like the wall. Which would make the effort severely more adverse will very likely have as great or greater effect.

I do not believe anyone is against controlled immigration from anywhere. What people are adverse to is ILLEGAL immigration where there is no screening. Against people coming with no means of support. Then either expect tax payers to support them or commit crimes to do so.
Perhaps they need to expedite the legal entry process.

I am only 50% native my own father was an immigrant. So part of me stems from that. Had he not came I would not be where I am today. Or maybe not at all. Unless a person is indigenous they immigrated from off shore.
