4/13/2017 Contest update It’s Good Friday week meaning the markets are closed tomorrow, so recommending a good book seems appropriate. My pick is “Why Does the World Exist?” by Jim Holt. And, no, the answer to the question is not “for you.” Meanwhile, at Thursday’s close, the Contest median was up 15.47% YTD (vs. up 14.26% YTD last Friday), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 9.76% YTD (vs. up 9.63% YTD last Friday) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 15.85% YTD (vs. up 13.87% YTD last Friday). The Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) closed up 7.84% YTD (vs. up 9.19% YTD last Friday). The Contest Top Three remained the same as last week. ROBO’s portfolio, up 54.72% YTD, in the lead, BIOADD’s portfolio, up 50.32% YTD, in second place and TOMP’s portfolio, up 40.07% YTD, in third place. At Thursday's close, 42 of the 48 Contest portfolios were still in the green, with 34 beating the NBI and 24 beating the SPSIBI.
