Tavaras gave a 12 minute interview today where he said he loves living in NY and playing here, and wants an extension with the Islanders to take place during the off season. Tavaras lives in Manhattan, in contrast to most of his teammates who live in Nassau County, Long Island. I only mention this because the Toronto media is under the illusion that Tavaras will sign with the Maple Leafs after next season. I don't see it happening. Tavaras has repeatedly said that he loves the way he is treated here.
