Techtel, an Austrailian Company. They use Divi encoders and settops. One of their Press Releases...................techtel.com.au November 3 1997 <Picture> Optus Communications Picks A Winner Sydney; November 3rd, 1997; The decision by Optus Communications to select DiviCom as the backbone for their Aurora service has been followed by another telecom operator. DiviCom has now successfully delivered its 2000th MPEG-2/DVB encoder, a MediaViewT MV25, to Spanish telecom and satellite Direct-To-Home operator Telef¢nica. As with the Optus project, where three sites were installed in just 90 days, DiviCom through its system integration and consulting group provided a multi channel turnkey system to Telef¢nica in only two months. DiviCom was the first company to ship a fully-integrated MPEG-2/DVB compliant encoder in 1994, the MediaView MV20. Since then the company has introduced the MediaView MV25, offering improved compression efficiency and overall picture quality, and the MediaView MV10, the industry's most compact (1 rack unit) and cost-effective MPEG-2 broadcast encoder. Both of these encoders and some new yet to be announced products will be demonstrated by Techtel at the forthcoming Australian Cable and Satellite Exhibition. Robin Wilson, DiviCom's director of marketing, will also present to the conference these new products as well as discussing the new MPEG-2 ML 4:2:2 Professional Profile. Techtel also plan to highlight the first MPEG-2/DVB Internetworking Via Satellite system designed to meet the high-bandwidth (80 Mbit), multimedia and multicasting needs of corporate networks, Internet Service Providers and satellite operators/service providers. Central to the system is DiviCom's new SkyGateT Local Area Network receiver, an integrated receiver/decoder with Ethernet capabilities. DiviCom's solution features all the components necessary to deploy satellite-based IP networks. Featuring the SkyGate receiver as well as the new MPEG Media ToolkitT high speed data injection platform, the system supports the high-speed transfer of IP traffic, alongside MPEG audio and video over satellite, for point-to-multipoint and point-to-point communications. All DiviCom digital video encoding systems are based on parent company C-Cube Microsystems' silicon solutions and comply with the MPEG-2, DVB and ATSC standards. DiviCom's worldwide encoding customers include industry leaders such as Optus Communications, EchoStar, ExpressVu, Space TV, and Bell Atlantic.
