Earnings due out AH on he 26th of this month.

Although the price is quite elevated - I would not be surprised to see the MM push the price down going into the announcement.

April options expiration has nothing unusual : there are 29 calls open interest at 17.50 and 75 puts open interest at 17.50. I wouldn't be surprised to see the price dip below 17.50 for the market maker to have a scalp pay check when he sells the stock above 17.50 while making the puts expire worthless and not taking any inventory from him.

Ther are 57 15 calls out there that will more than likely take inventory from him and 5 calls at 15 that will expire worthless nope none of them are me.LOL

What will be exciting is May - there are a slug of options out there:

1615 calls ranging from 12.50 to 20.00 - 725 of them at 17.50. Once again making the calls a battle ground at 17.50 - creating a need for inventory?

Only 293 puts out there 180 of them at 12.50. that shouldn't take any inventory but there are 173 at 17.50.

So I see a battle at the$ 17.50 price range for the next month.

The market maker will want to buy below 17.50 and sell them with an advance, to the call owners who paid a premium plus 17.50 at expiration.

Since May is so big in open interest it must have the MM's attention.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a little post option expiration dip below 17.50 to shake out the new low hanging fruit.

Big earnings and great guidance would push price up and create a squeeze on the Market maker.

That could happen ,but I'm not playing the synthetic short game unless we focus on the 15's and then in earnest the 12.50.

Analysts are whispering a 24 cent EPS for the quarter and they have boosted the annual E.P.S to $1.40.

So I have my hands in my pocket and am hoping for institutional "discovery" which could give us a run up to the low 20's - much like Brks.

Keep in mind Cohu only has 26 million shares outstanding.

A dividend bump to 7 cents would get them a lot of attention as they ramp up earnings.

It's our (stockholders) turn for a raise - options to employees are costing 1.5 plus million a quarter - keep in mind stockholders are the management as well!!

Every time Cohu has had an EPS thresh hold above$ 1.75 - it has had a 2 for 1 split - 1.40 is not that FAR OFF.

Especially if they can get growth from consumables 9 cents more a quarter.

Then a 2 for 1 split with another 1 cent dividend increase, like they did in SEPT 27TH 1999

CHART UPDATE :

screencast.com

Here's to a great quarter!!

Let's have a 1 cent bump in the dividend and another 1 cent bump and two for one split this September.

I think Luis should call up Chuck Schwann and ask him how he got Cohu's stock up to $61.75 in 1998.

What he'll here - I just posted hint hint

I know, I know, too much coffee this morning LOL
