G.F.

I agree, I've been finding shorts easier to spot lately, possibly because the market is so nervous. I'm not too experienced as yet, but I have the best results with stocks I have been watching for some time. I can get a sense of how they seem to trade during the day, and which MM's have the most interest(usually). Also interesting to see how strong a stock opens as opposed to how it closes. I've read that the MM's control the close, opens are controlled by the uninformed, with the build up of orders from the night before.

G.F. IMHO the news is just the trigger to begin watching the stock's technical indicators. The TA is what triggers the entry/exit.

Rather than watch the news I concentrate on the largest intraday point gainers/losers for stocks to watch.
